Announcing USAPECS

This winter, APECS regional committees in the US are joining together to form one national committee: US APECS. The advantages of consolidating are:

  • Opportunities for networking and collaboration in different parts of the country.

  • A bigger, more prominent group is more likely to be able to partner with other national organizations (similar to APECS Canada's collaborations).

  • Takes the pressure for continuity off of regional groups - if there stops being interest in a particular area, it'll be easier to start up again later with support from the NC.

  • Facilitates events at national conferences (i.e. AGU)

Events would still be planned at the regional level, since there is such a geographic spread.

We'd love to hear your ideas about how to make USAPECS the most useful it can be. Contact usapecs@gmail.com with any suggestions.
