As the year comes to a close, we’re grateful for the strong and visible presence of USAPECS at the AGU Fall Meeting 2025 in New Orleans.

The Polar Early Career Researchers Social co-organized with Polar Science Early Career Community Office, Polar Impact, and US Permafrost Association was a great success, bringing together early career scientists from across the polar community for an evening of connection, conversation, and community. It was energizing to see such strong engagement and shared enthusiasm for supporting polar ECRs.

USAPECS also contributed to an important AGU Union Session with an invited talk on challenges facing polar early career scientists during ongoing science policy upheaval, sparking thoughtful discussion and reinforcing the importance of amplifying early career voices. The Polar ECR Survey is still taking responses (from undergrad to within 10 years of PhD): https://princetonsurvey.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_4Zqm1AiW6ajNZvE

Together, these moments highlighted the strength and momentum of the polar early career community. Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make AGU 2025 such a memorable meeting.

Wishing you a very happy New Year 2026.
