Upcoming APECS Icebreaker at SCAR HASSEG Workshop, Colorado


A joint workshop of the Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research (SCAR) History Expert Group and the SCAR Humanities and Social Science Expert Group will be held at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado from 20-23 May 2015. The title of the workshop is “Antarctic Wilderness: Perspectives from History, the Humanities and the Social Sciences.” Alongside this wilderness theme there will be a wide range of papers that examine Antarctica from historical, humanities, and social science perspectives.

An icebreaker event will be held under the APECS banner on Wednessday May 20. This event is open to all local APECS members who live in Fort Collins, and to workshop participants. Priority will be given to early career researchers on the brewery tour, but all workshop participants will be encouraged to attend the icebreaker to mingle, learn about the work APECS does, and make new connections.
