USAPECS is the national committee representing United States members of the Association of Polar Early Career Scientists (APECS). Our aims as USAPECS are to stimulate inclusive collaborations and connections between early career researchers and polar organizations. In a field that currently and historically discriminates, prevents access, and marginalizes many people for identity-based reasons, we seek to welcome and support all students, early career researchers, and community members. USAPECS aims to ensure all of our actions and collaborations are inherently focused on and informed by Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility (IDEA) principles. This includes advocating on behalf of our members in regard to pressing issues in polar research at a national and international level.

Join USAPECS

To join US APECS, you must be an APECS member. Membership is free - join on the APECS website here and make sure to indicate that you are in the US. You'll be automatically added to the USAPECS email list.
